Inflation has eased up a bit, and in October it was lower than what's expected. Despite the drop, inflation continues to affect the middle class and the poor, as stated by John Catsimatidis, chairman and CEO of Red Apple Group and chairman and CEO of Gristedes & D’Agostino’s Supermarkets. According to Catsimatidis, even though it seems to have adjusted downward, the hikes in energy costs and food impacts the poor and the middle class the most.

Although it seems to have adjusted downward, the hikes in energy costs and food impacts the two economic groups the most. And while inflation is still running high, investors and analysts view the data as a sign that this could be the beginning of the end.
